Rock Guitar Owes a lot to Blues Guitar

The average music listener might not realize it but rock and roll both older style from the seventies and current styles owe a lot to the roots blues music of the early 1900′s. Those old songs that were passed down through the generations were the beginnings of what would become a booming industry of huge stadium rock bands like Led Zeppelin later on in history. So if you’re learning guitar should you start with the blues? It depends on what your goals are. Courses like learn and master guitar teach you a little bit of it all from blues to rock to jazz and country. This helps you become a well rounded player who can play in different settings with a variety of different  players. For me I enjoy the versatility since it opens up the opportunities you have to play with people.
