While loan modification is a legitimate way to save your home from foreclosure, it’s important to be careful and avoid unscrupulous lenders.  In this short blog post I’m going to give you some tips on how to avoid loan modification scams.  If you’re being asked up front for high fees to see if you qualify for a government mortgage modification program, you may getting ripped off by a fake government modification program.  Don’t fall for bait and switch program where you surrender the title of the house to a scam artist for a rescue loan and avoid rent to own and leaseback schemes.
