How to increase your metabolism

Is it possible to increase the fat burning capability of your body?  Absolutely, it is known as your resting metabolic rate or basal metabolic rate, and it is linked to your lean muscle mass.  By increasing your muscle mass then you can really help to pump up your BMR so that you burn more calories every single day even when you are stuck to the sofa (of course to build up muscle you have to have been off the sofa quite a lot!).  This means you can effectively be on a diet by hundreds of calories a day as long as you do not increase the amount of food you eat after you put on muscle, this is a great way to tone up and lose fat at the same time.
