The Upside of all That Rain

May 27, 2009 on 6:56 am | By | In Home | No Comments

When I moved back to my hometown of Seattle, many people warned me that I wouldn’t be hapy after living in balmy Florida for so long.  But I knew what I was doing.  For years I’d missed the lush green summers which can only happen as a result of the long, rainy days.  When I was growing up my Dad called the state, “rain barrel washington” because almost everyone  collected water in big, decorative receptacles.  No one had serious water bills and the barrels added a charming touch to homes.  I’d missed all that.  It’s been eight months since I’ve been back and I love it.  It’s good to be home.
